This cap is what Christine LeGrow imagines a mermaid would knit from the kelp that washes up on the beach near her home. Moss stitch tendrils drape the back and sides providing warmth from the cold sea winds. The body of the cap is knit in vertical sections of moss and stocking stitch. The top is finished with three more tendrils of varied lengths. It is knit with Brown Heather which, when compared to the kelp, is of a very similar colour. We all know that mermaids spend their time searching out sailors and would not want to spend their time dying wool. This concept and design is by Christine LeGrow. Hand knit with 100% wool, worsted weight.
